To the editor:

I am writing to express my support for Amy Jackson in the upcoming mayoral primary election and to encourage others to consider casting their vote for her.

I support Amy because of her vision, her leadership and her commitment to my hometown community. Amy’s Alexandria roots run deep as she and I were classmates at the former T.C. Williams High School. She has experience as a city official as she is currently finishing her second term on Council and her first as vice mayor. Amy has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the challenges facing Alexandria, to include the necessity of broadening our tax base, creating more affordable housing and protecting the public through a robust emphasis on public safety.

Amy’s track record of public service underscores her ability to bring people together and effect positive change. I encourage every voter to examine her record and consider casting their vote for her.
