The 5th Annual Courage Cup raises money to benefit programs in the mid-Atlantic region that give disadvantaged children individualized attention and a positive alternative activity to keep them in school and off the streets.
The Courage Cups largest annual fundraiser, Meadow Matches, a day-long polo event which many in DC now consider a staple of the Summer Social Calendar, will take place on Sheila C. Johnson Field at Great Meadow Polo Club in The Plains, about 35 miles southwest of Alexandria, on Saturday, June 21.
Michael Saylor, the chairman of Microstrategy, is this year’s Honorary Chair. I am proud to be supporting, and associated with an organization that provides such unique learning opportunities to at-risk children in our community,” Saylor said. “Not only are these kids learning, but they are developing life skills and are shown how important education is to their future.”
Traditionally, the youth of the Work to Ride program play along side professional polo players in the annual Courage Cup match at Meadow Matches on the third Saturday in June. This year, some of the youth from Work to Ride will be sporting The Meltzer Group polo jerseys as they take on Team MicroStrategy in the 5th Annual Courage Cup match.
