In reviewing the incredible post-season run that the T.C. Williams Boys Basketball Team put together, the Titans went 10-0 in all post-season games to claim the 07/08 Virginia AAA State Championship – finishing their banner season with an overall record of 29-3.

It was the second state title in the schools history. Their last was during the 1976-77 season. In securing the title, the Titans won three Patriot District tournament contests, then four Northern Region tournament contests and then put the proverbial exclamation point on their season by winning three state tournament contests.

In reviewing their final seven conquests, the Red, White and Blue defeated Bethel in the state title Game 70-57, having led 32-18 at intermission.

In the State Semi-Final/Quarter-Final respectively, the Titans defeated
Petersburg 63-46 and Kings Fork 59-39.

Earlier, T.C. defeated Langley in the Northern Region Title Game 66-54. Earlier still, in the Northern Region Semi-Final and Quarter-Final Round of 16 games respectively, the Titans defeated Lake Braddock 50-37, W.T. Woodson 48-32 and Herndon 69-49.

T.C. earlier still had defeated West Potomac in the Patriot District Tournament title game to launch themselves into the Northern Region tournament with sizeable momentum.

In Coach Ivan Thomas three seasons at the helm of the TC program, the Titans are undefeated in Patriot District play. Nine of 16 varsity members will return next season.

The State Title conquest of Bethel, in which T.C. led from start to finish, marked the swan song for seven seniors: Travis Berry, Tomas Camara, Javonta Campbell, Ricky Colbert, Joshua Jordan, Earl Via and Anthony Winbush.
How many Northern Region Schools had their boys/girls varsity basketball teams combine for 50 or more wins in the just concluded season?

The answer is just one.

If you answered the question with T.C. Williams as your answer then you are absolutely correct.

The TC boys team concluded their season 29-3 overall; whereas the TC girls team concluded their season 22-1 overall.

When totaling the two, the Titans combined for an outstanding 51-4 record during the 07/08 campaign. No other school in the Northern Region was even close to that total.
