Alexandria Choral Society, “Seek Out Light”, 3pm and 7:30pm

Please consider bringing your whole family to our 3pm performance of Seek Out Light on Saturday, December 14th. This shorter (45 minute), kid-friendly holiday program is packed with seasonal choral favorites like Morten Lauridsen’s “Sure on this Shining Night,” William Averitt’s “Masters in this Hall,” and Christopher Hoh’s “Good People All, This Christmastime” as well as lots of familiar carols like “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas,” “O Christmas Tree,” and “Deck the Hall.” You and your family will have several opportunities to sing along with the Alexandria Choral Society, and one lucky child may even have an opportunity to take the podium and conduct! Plus, we’ll have two harps joining us as we present Will Todd’s Among Angels, a choral work designed to mimic the sound of angels in flight.

Our longer evening program, starting at 730pm, expands upon our previous matinee performance, adding in works by composers like Elizabeth Poston (Jesus Christ the Apple Tree), Susan Labarr (Huron Carol), Kathleen Allan (The Frost), and Herbert Howells (Magnificat ‘Collegium Regale).

We hope you come to one (or both!) of these joyful holiday performances on December 14th to help us celebrate this winter season!
