Alexandria’s Roaring 2020 Big Band Winter Bash
Hear hits by the biggest stars of the last 100 years in Alexandria’s free Roaring 2020 Big Band Winter Bash at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22.
You’ll enjoy Elton John’s “Crocodile Rock,” Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Proud Mary,” Duke Ellington’s “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing,” The Wiggles’ “Hoop-Dee-Doo,” plus songs from The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Andy Williams, and The Osborne Brothers. Performing will be the Alexandria Citizens Swing Band, a unit of the all-volunteer Alexandria Citizens Band, now in its 108th year.
Bring the whole family for this fun-filled hour-long concert, and introduce a new generation to great music. The concert will be held at Del Ray United Methodist Church, 100 East Windsor Ave. After the concert, head to the Del Ray restaurants, just two blocks away. Best of all, it’s all free. It is all made possible with a grant from the City of Alexandria, Office of the Arts’ Arts Grant Program.
