Garden Spa Workshop
The benefits of gardening for your mental and physical health are indisputable. Join us for a workshop that goes just a bit further and shows you how to turn your garden bounty into small, well-deserved indulgences. Explore common garden herbs that refresh, relax, invigorate, and intoxicate! Learn how much of an herb, such as lavender, it takes to make a spa experience in your home and how to process it for use in creating a bath fizz, a lavender pillow sachet, and lip balm, all suitable for gifting or a small dose of self-pampering! Participants will gain a basic understanding of what it takes to use garden herbs for everyday skin care.
Instructor Mellenie Runion is the creator of the tiny Del Ray-based skin care company Truly-Life. Mellenie grows herbs and loofahs in her urban garden, just five miles South of The White House. Truly-Life products are sold in small local boutiques as well as Whole Foods Markets.
The workshop will take place Saturday, October 3 at River Farm outdoors, under our spacious, airy tent. Each participant can be seated at his/her own 6ft. table to ensure safe distancing. All participants will be asked to wear masks to comply with the governor’s Forward Virginia guidelines.
