Jewish History of Old Town Alexandria

The Alexandria Historical Society and the Office of Historic Alexandria present a virtual lecture, Jewish History of Old Town Alexandria, by Mark Livingston, a tour guide with the Lillian & Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum. From the first Jewish immigrants to Alexandria in the 1850s to a thriving microcosm of Jewish life today, Jewish Alexandrians have helped shape and been shaped by their city. This talk will introduce audiences to several Jewish synagogues, merchants, Civil War soldiers, and mayors, and uncover history hidden in plain site along King Street and the surrounding area. To register for the virtual talk, please visit the City of Alexandria events page, https://shop.alexandriava.gov/Events.aspx
