Sprig’s Café invites community to official opening event

Catholic Charities USA is excited to invite you to the official opening of Sprig’s Coffee and Pastry Café, a fresh café concept located in the Carlyle neighborhood of Alexandria, Va., on Thursday, March 3, from 3 pm to 5 pm.

Under the guidance of Chef Abbas Ahmad, the Café’s General Manager, Sprig’s offers a distinctive menu featuring an array of sandwiches and salads loaded with quality ingredients; international pastries handcrafted with care; and single-origin, ethically sourced Arabica coffee roasted by veterans transitioning from active duty.

Complimentary coffee and sample pastries will be available to customers during this time.

In the past 20 years, Chef Abbas has expanded his culinary talents while continuing to be known as the “king of baklava” locally, selling to hotels, embassies and the like. Abbas will be available to speak to the media about Sprig’s, his commitment to the community and how he hopes to ignite his passion for preparing exceptional foods in a new generation of chefs.
