Storytime Concert for kids!
The Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association (WMPA) is pleased to offer FREE Bilingual Family Concerts again. As a pre-dinner treat, children can enjoy hearing over 20 WMP musicians perform a fairy tale set to music. An adorable tale by the Brothers Grimm will be narrated in English at 4 p.m. and again in Spanish at 5 p.m. The delightful music of BENEDIKT BRYDERN brings to life “The Town Musicians.” Little nooks are available for ‘time outs’, if needed.
Music Director Emeritus and “Alexandria Living Legend” Ul James conducts. Patricia Washington narrates the English story at 4 p.m., while Sohamy Marquina narrates “LOS MÚSICOS DEL PUEBLO” in Spanish at 5 p.m. Children can enjoy an “instrument petting zoo” during intermissions.
WMPA thanks the City of Alexandria City of Office of the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts in part for their support, as well as the partnership with Rosas Blancas in the promotion of these Spanish-language concert offerings for children.
