Takin’ It Outside
Back by popular demand, the students at the Academy at Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) will present a 70-minute fast-paced entertaining show with fresh repertoire supported by a band, led by pianist, music director and new faculty member, John Henderson and drummer, Danny Vilanueva,
Music theatre favorites, improvisational sketches, scenes and dances all in the safe and beautiful outdoor setting of Lee District RECenter’s Amphitheatre at 6601 Telegraph Road in Alexandria will give our students the opportunity to perform outside, alongside guest professionals at a beautiful park venue.
Produced by faculty members, N. Thomas Pedersen, Heather Gifford and the Academy faculty, we are excited to have John Regan of Regan Music Services join us for sound reinforcement. Regan, for many years, was the sound designer at the Library of Congress, and has done the sound for the DC FolkLife Festival, Harper’s Ferry Summer Festival, Summer Dinner Theatre, and a host of well-known artists.
