True Tales of Old Alexandria

The Alexandria Historical Society presents a lecture by Ted Pulliam, a freelance writer who focuses on our city’s history, Ted will discuss two chapters in his recent book, True Tales of Old Alexandria. Attendees will learn about a remarkable Englishwoman who becomes, in 1654, the first European to own land in what would become Alexandria. Ted will also highlight the British navy’s experience as they sail up the Potomac River during the War of 1812 to loot defenseless Alexandria. However, when the British must sail back downriver, Alexandrians take their revenge.

Tickets are available at the door – $5 for non-members and free to members of the Alexandria Historical Society. Memberships can be purchased or renewed at the event. Light refreshments will be served.
