Virtual Lecture: A Short History of Shuter’s Hill and the Construction of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial

The Alexandria Historical Society and the Office of Historic Alexandria present a virtual lecture, A Short History of Shuter’s Hill and the Construction of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial, by Mark Tabbert, Director of the Library and Museum Collections at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial Association. Tabbert has a master’s degree in America history and has worked in museums in Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and Lexington, MA. His most recent book is George Washington’s Rule for Freemasons in Life and Lodge. A new book, to be published by the University of Virginia Press next year, will document George Washington’s membership in, and relationship with, Freemasonry. Titled “‘A Deserving Brother’: George Washington and Freemasonry,” it will be published by the University of Virginia Press next year.
