Woodlawn Needlework Show & Sale
The Woodlawn Needlework Show & Sale runs for the entire month of March, and is open every day except Tuesdays. Come see hundreds of amazing needlework pieces, daily demonstrations, special exhibits and more.
Woodlawn’s 57th Annual Needlework Show & Sale begins on March 1st. The setting, at the 1805 Woodlawn Mansion in Alexandria, Virginia, was the first family home of Eleanor “Nelly” Custis, George and Martha Washington’s grand-daughter and one of America’s first ‘celebrity’ craftmakers! The event continues to honors this legacy as a premier showcase of the needle arts, promoting emerging and stable needlework artists, and raising the needed funds to preserve our iconic historic site today. Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House is committed to telling the full stories of our long history, not just of the owners or the architects our designed the houses, and we have welcomed submissions from all needlework makers, to include a diverse community of artists, technique and style. Visitors can look forward to an unsurpassed exhibit of incredible needlework pieces!
The Show & Sale runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the entire month of March, and is open every day, EXCEPT Tuesdays. Included in this admission are demonstrations, special exhibits, talks by local craft artists and the chance to shop at our needlearts gift shop.
