Police responded to a home in the 1000 block of Basil Road in McLean on Sunday, June 15 shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Officers were led to the rear of the home where Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel were performing CPR on a man who was found unconscious at the bottom of the swimming pool. Hamid Ahmed, 37, of the Basil Road address was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing; however, the death does not appear suspicious in nature.
