The Alexandria City Council and Arlington County Board will hold a joint public work session to coordinate regional projects as a team, a city spokesperson said.
Officials will gather to coordinate their efforts on key transportation, land use and restoration projects that affect both communities, city spokesman Tony Castrilli said in a statement.
The meeting underscores the high level of cooperation between the two neighboring communities, who often face issues and opportunities that transcend geographic boundaries, Castrilli said.
Staff from the neighboring jurisdictions will present studies and discuss the Crystal City-Potomac Yard, Columbia Pike and Beauregard corridor transit initiatives. The Four Mile Run restoration project and opportunities at the co-managed energy-from-waste facility in Alexandria are also on the docket.
