Alexandria nonprofits receive Inova grants

Inova Health System awarded $240,000 in Community Health Fund grants to 14 nonprofits in the DMV, including seven Alexandria nonprofits, according to a news release.

The local nonprofits that received grants include Capital Youth Empowerment, The Campagna Center, Carpenter’s Shelter, The Child and Family Network Centers, Nueva Vida, SCAN of Northern Virginia and United Community. T

he Community Health Fund is used to invest in the community through partnerships that address population health needs and promote equity, according to the release. In 2021, in order to address the needs of residents during the pandemic, Inova doubled its funding for community health grants.
