A decade ago, residents, local officials and emergency first responders were grappling with the worst foreign attack on U.S. soil in history. Now theyre inviting the community to remember the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Officials will hold an hour-long remembrance ceremony for the tenth anniversary of the attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Towers, honoring to the men and women who died responding to the terrorist strike.
Mayor Bill Euille, Sheriff Dana Lawhorne, Police Chief Earl Cook and Fire Chief Adam Thiel will offer remarks at the ceremony, scheduled for noon at Market Square on September 9.
