The Alexandria Republican City Committee has officially completed its nomination process for local offices, according to a news release.
Annetta Catchings, a flight attendant with 30 years of experience, is the party’s mayoral nominee, while Darryl Nirenberg, a 22-year city resident and attorney who previously served as a U.S. Senate staffer, is the party’s City Council nominee.
At the state level, the ARCC selected J.D. Maddox and Kyle Rooney as its nominees for the Virginia House of Delegates in the 45th and 46th Districts, respectively. The 45th District covers parts of Alexandria, Arlington and Fairfax Counties, while the 46th District covers the West End.
Maddox, who currently serves as a member of Alexandria’s Information Technology Commission, is also a small business owner, veteran, university professor and former CIA officer. Rooney is a technology and data analysis professional who places a heavy emphasis on K-12 education.
All ARCC nominees will appear on the November general election ballots, alongside their Democratic counterparts. The Democratic primary is scheduled for June 8.
