A crackdown on drunk driving in the city over the weekend ended with five arrests, police said.
Authorities conducted roaming DWI enforcement from 8:30 p.m. on Saturday until 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Officers stopped drivers after they committed traffic violations and checked to see if they were under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said.
Police made 81 stops, resulting in five arrests for driving while intoxicated, 37 summonses for miscellaneous traffic offenses and 44 violation warnings were given. A single sheriffs deputy and 10 police officers conducted the crackdown, according to officials.
