The Alexandria Republican City Committee and the Commonwealth Republican Women’s Club joined the Black Conservative Federation for a gala in Old Town on Feb. 17.

Annetta Catchings, chairman of Alexandria’s Republican party, said “The event was a moment for the room to reflect on the contributions made by Black Americans.”

Connie Cantrell, president of CRWC, called the event inspiring. “To hear our conservative principles so eloquently expressed by all the participants made it a great evening,” she said.
