Hundreds of bundled-up spectators lined the docks at Alexandria Marina Saturday night to watch the 11th annual Burke and Herbert Holiday Boat Parade of Lights.
More than 50 vessels entered this years competition, which featured a maritime caravan of creatively decorated boats cruising down the Potomac River, lighting up the frigid night sky. Judges watched the boats from the Cherry Blossom during a VIP party hosted by the Potomac Riverboat Co. and WTOPs Man About Town Bob Madigan emceed the event.
The Best in Show award went to Capt. J. Gasons Patriot Dreams. Alexandria-based RedPeg Marketing joined the Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association and the Washington Waterfront Association in organizing this years parade and dockside festivities.
