Bruegger’s celebrated the grand opening of its newest Bruegger’s bakery-cafe located in Alexandria. The bakery, located in the Shops at Carlyle Square at 500 John Carlyle Square, brings the total of Washington D.C. area bakeries to two.
“Virginia is a growing market for Bruegger’s and we are proud to be a part of the Alexandria community,” said James J. Greco, CEO of Bruegger’s. “In addition to our fresh-from-the-oven bagels, Bruegger’s also offers an array of delicious, healthy menu options including hand-tossed salads, fresh made soups, sandwiches and Green Mountain coffee that Virginians will enjoy.”
The new bakery has seating for up to 20 guests and will employ approximately 10 people. The bakery, which features unlimited, free wireless Internet, is open Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The first Bruegger’s bakery-caf opened in Virginia in February of 2006 and there are plans to open three additional bakeries later this year in Arlington and Washington D.C.
Kettle boiled first; Bruegger’s bagels are baked fresh throughout the day to give them an authentic crunchy crust on the outside and a dense, chewy texture on the inside. In addition to fresh, hot bagels, Bruegger’s offers an extensive menu free of artificial trans fats. Menu items include new Signature Soups, hand-crafted, fresh-tossed salads, made-to-order sandwiches and unique Green Mountain Coffee Roasters coffee blends, including a daily Fair Trade Certified blend.
