Farrah Olivia, the signature Old Town restaurant of celebrity chef Morou Ouattara, will serve its last meal on April 29th.
Ouattara had been in negotiations for months with Balduccis, the restaurants landlord, over a new lease. When an agreement could not be reached, the decision was made to shut down and look elsewhere for a new location.
While Morou plans to reopen Farrah Olivia within the next year in downtown Washington, he and his brother Amadou will be opening a new Italian restaurant in Crystal City sometime this summer. The new venture will be named after Morous youngest daughter, Kora, and will be a more casual restaurant than Farrah Olivia.
