A new website called OneAlexandria has launched as a forum for city residents to share news and resources, connect with other citizens, and, according to the website, Think globally, act locally and have fun.

The site was developed as a tool for residents to build an online community that fosters honesty, integrity, healthy habits, life-long education, successful commerce and stewardship of the natural environment, according to website co-founder John Leary. OneAlexandria is seeking to be a forum where Alexandrians will share information, ideas and resources to make the city a better place, and have some fun while doing it.

A network of bloggers will comment on a variety of opinions and interests, and visitors are encouraged to post comments, ask questions, find volunteer opportunities and connect with others with common interests.

In pre-launch mode, the website for OneAlexandria is www.OneAlexandria.org.
