Police say a local man stole a city-owned parking boot after parking enforcement used the device to immobilize his vehicle late last month.
Authorities caught up to Mohammad Eskandari, 53, of Alexandria on September 29. He now faces one count of grand larceny. Police reported the steel mechanical device, allegedly attached to Eskandaris vehicle on the 600 block of Stevenson Rd., missing on September 14.
Parking enforcement officers boot cars if the owner has at least three outstanding parking tickets, said Jody Donaldson, police department spokesman.
Three city-owned boots have gone missing so far this year, Donaldson said.
