Aided with video footage, Alexandria police were able to quickly arrest an individual suspected of lifting a grocery store employees cell phone on September 1, officials say.
The 200 block W. Glebe Road store employee had left her phone unattended by a cash register while taking a bathroom break only to find it missing upon her return about 7:50 p.m.
The theft was captured on video and a police officer later recognized the suspect, arresting them soon after, said Ashley Hildebrandt, department spokeswoman.
Authorities have not release the identity of the individual charged, though the cell phone was recovered, Hildebrandt said.
