King Street in Old Town will again become an outdoor showcase for 200 artists when the Alexandria Festival of the Arts celebrates its 6th anniversary on September 13 14, 2008. Admission to the juried art show of selected artists is free.
Produced by Howard Alan Events, the Alexandria Festival of the Arts is one of the top outdoor art festivals in the country.
The City of Alexandria is pleased to host an arts festival that draws both local and national artists from across the country, Mayor William D. Euille said. Alexandria is proud of its own rich arts culture. The Torpedo Factory Art Center on the waterfront and many galleries and boutiques throughout the city have made Alexandria one of the top arts destinations in the country.
The Festival offers a wide range of art, from $25 hand-designed earrings and $50 prints, to $20,000 metal sculptures. The original artwork will include paintings, sculptures, photography, glass, ceramics, mixed media and more.
All of the artists will be at the festival with their work, giving visitors the opportunity to talk with the artists, learn about their art and what inspires them, and, of course, purchase or commission original pieces.
Festival Hours: Saturday, September 13, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
