American Style Magazine has rated Alexandria one of the top three arts destinations among mid-sized cities in their annual rankings.

The arts, crafts and interior design publication ranked Alexandria third behind first-place St. Petersburg, Fla. and runner-up New Orleans.

A newcomer to the top five, the historic city of Alexandria has recently been getting noticed as an arts destination, American Style Magazine says. The city is making a name for itself with art festivals, events and galleries.
