Three T.C.Williams High School students, Yosyp Shvab, Ivan Kyle Borces and Ezra Awumey, wonfirst place awards March 6 at the Northern Virginia Regional Science andEngineering Fair and now advance to the state competition April 4 at George Mason University.
Shvab was aGrand Prize awardee at the regional fair, earning first place in the ComputerScience category and myriad other accolades from businesses and organizations.Borces garnered first place honors in Mathematics and Awumey took first inPhysics.
Several GeorgeWashington Middle School students also participated in the regionalcompetition. Christopher Gerlach earned a first in Mathematics, Emma West won afirst place prize in Chemistry, Abby Halm took a first in Environmental Science, Spenser Gilliandgarnered a first in Physics, as did Emily Breedingand Emmy Freedman, and Sarah Lanne and Jacqueline Pastore.
