Alexandria Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Tina Leone has agreed to become executive director of the Ballston business improvement district.
“I will miss the chamber, the members, this wonderful board of directors we’ve created and the Alexandria community,” Leone said in an email. “This is just a great opportunity for me, and I’m honored that I was selected for this position.”
The chamber’s board of directors has formed an ad hoc committee to find a new president, and Catherine Roper, vice president of operations, will helm the organization in the meantime.
Leone, an Old Town resident, lived in the Arlington neighborhood of Ballston 10 years ago. She first joined the Alexandria chamber in July 2009. Her last day on the job is November 30.
