Celebrity chefs from around the region joined forces Friday night for the 4th annual “Evening with the Chefs” gala, a fundraiser to benefit the Dunbar Alexandria-Olympic Boys&Girls Club.

Held at Belle Haven Country Club, the sold out dinner featured chefs Robert Wiedmaier of Brabo, Will Artley of Evening Star Restaurant and Max-Philippe Knoepfel of Belle Haven Country Club and raised more than $25,000 to benefit the club’s youth programs. 

Mayor Bill Euille and City Councilman Frank Fannon attended the event, which honored two Alexandria families with the prestigious Miller-Day Award:  Denise and Will Dunbar and family and T.J. Fannon and the Fannon family were honored for their exemplary service to the club.

The Dunbar Alexandria-Olympic Boys & Girls Club was founded in 1936. Located in its original building at 401 N. Payne St., the club annually serves over 1,000 youth ages 6 18 and is about to reopen its doors after more than a year of renovations.

 “Our goal is to serve as many youth in Alexandria as we possibly can,” said Tammy Valencia Mujica, branch director for the club.
