Alexandria dogs get hosed down last weekend as part of Dogtopias nationwide dog wash, which raised money for dogs serving in the U.S. military.

On Sunday, during a hot and steamy end to the weekend, 41 dogs were scrubbed, rinsed and washed at Dogtopia to cool off and raise money for their brethren serving in the military overseas.

Jeff and Sandy Lutton, owners of the Colvin Street location, said Dogtopia raised $610 to go towards K9 Support, a national organization that supports dog soldiers in the U.S. military.

Dogtopias across the country spanning 15 states participated in the weekend wash. Last yearde dog wash raised $15,000.
