A Family Fun Day celebrating the children and families of the city is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, September 19 at John Adams Elementary School.
The free event will feature food, live entertainment and a variety of fun and interactive exhibits and activities, designed to provide useful information and resources to keep children safe and families strong. Events and entertainment will include Washington area childrens musicians Rocknoceros, DJ Iana, Reptiles ALIVE!, playgroups, demonstrations by local athletes, a petting zoo, moon bounces, face painting, crafts and more.
Digital Identification kits for children will be available for parents through the Center for Alexandrias Children, the Alexandria Police Department and SafeAssured ID, a proactive safety program designed to provide rapid emergency response and peace of mind to loved ones.
The Center for Alexandrias Children, with the support and partnership of Alexandria City Public Schools and several city departments, is hosting the event.
