The Alexandria Jaycees will again sell Christmas trees and wreaths this season, with proceeds to benefit the Holiday Shopping Tour for underprivileged children. The Holiday Shopping Tour gives area kids a fun shopping day shopping funds provided and pizza party to follow so they may purchase gifts for their families.
This years lot will be open November 28 to December 19 or until all the trees are sold. The location is the Safeway parking lot in Old Town, 500 South Royal St. The operating hours are Tuesday to Friday, 6 to 9 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tree lot features a variety of trees, including Canaan firs, Douglas firs, Fraser firs, and Scotch pines in heights from four to 10 feet with prices from $45 to $90.
The Alexandria chapter of the Jaycees is part of Junior Chamber International and has been serving the City of Alexandria since 1940. The Jaycees provide leadership training and community service opportunities for people aged 21 to 40.
