The Del Ray Business Association honored the Neighborhood Pharmacy of Del Ray with its annual community award last week.

Each year around Valentine’s Day the DRBA honors a business that exhibits the “heart and soul” of the neighborhood with the Heart of Del Ray award. The Neighborhood Pharmacy, owned by Stacy Swartz, emits a warm and welcoming attitude and a commitment to community generosity, said Gayle Reuter, DRBA spokeswoman.

“Of all the events I work on, this is one of my favorites because I love getting to read all the wonderful comments about the amazing businesses in Del Ray.  And these businesses really do help make Del Ray feel like such a welcoming small town,” she said.

Other nominees included Greener Cleaner, Pork Barrel BBQ, Taqueria Poblano and St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub.
