Students at George Washington Middle School will be opening their own World War II museum on Monday in the schools media center. The museum, with projects on the events of the war that are emphasized in the Virginia Standards of Learning, will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 20, and from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. the rest of the week.
The student-curators will have original bookmarks, art and other items to sell in their own gift shop. Parents, teachers and students will provide refreshments.
