City police are investigating the larceny of a truck, trailer and lawn equipment earlier this month from the citys Hensley Park District facility located on Eisenhower Avenue.

Sometime between 3:30 p.m. on May 7 and 7 a.m. on May 10, suspect(s) scaled a fence and broke into a storage shed that contained lawn equipment, according to police. The maintenance equipment was loaded onto a trailer attached to a Ford F-450 crew-cab truck and driven through a locked gate.
The value of the truck, trailer and equipment is estimated to be approximately $82,000 and the damage to the facility and other truck is approximately $10,000, police said. The City of Alexandrias Parks and Recreation Department owns all of the property.

The truck is described as navy blue with the City of Alexandria seal on both sides and the number 7108 in white stickers on each front quarter panel.  The trailer is a Hudson brand and contained a standup mower, five weed whackers, two backpack blowers, two string edgers and one chain saw.

Anyone who might have seen this vehicle or with additional information about this case is asked to call Detective Eric Rehberg at the criminal investigations section of the Alexandria Police Department at 703-838-4085 or the crime solvers tip line at 703-838-4858. All can remain anonymous.
