ACT for Alexandria, a catalyst for charitable giving in the city, hosts its third annual Generations of Giving Gala on April 29, the kickoff event for Spring for Alexandria 2010, a three-day celebration of giving and service.
Committed to “creating new ways to better the lives of our community’s families and children,” ACT chose as this year’s gala theme “Innovation: Re-inventing Community” so it will be held at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office headquarters.
The dress? “Geek chic.” The food and drink? “Inventive.” The evening will culminate in the presentation of the Legacy of Giving Award to the Guiffre’ family, a family with a multi-generational tradition of community support. WJLA’s Leon Harris will be emceeing the event.
