With temperatures hovering near the 90s Tuesday, local kids found solace from the summer heat at the Great Waves Water Park at Cameron Run Regional Park in Alexandria. This young man splashed into water after speeding down one of the four-story water slides at the park. Kids from all around the area celebrated summers beginning at the giant wave pool which is no ocean, but is a close second to the beach without the traffic, gas prices or sandy feet.
