  • Man stabbed to death

A fight which broke out at a party on Parramore Drive in Alexandria/Fairfax County in the early hours of Sunday morning took a deadly when a man was stabbed to death.

After the police were called to break up the group, they found a man had been stabbed. The victim, who has not been identified, died shortly later. 
Fairfax Police said the man knew his attacker and an arrest was made. They have not yet released the identity of the attacker.

  • Clerk tied up and robbed

A 48-year-old store clerk was tied up during a robbery at the San Miguel General Store at 6235 Richmond Highway. On Thursday, March 20 at 12:45 p.m., a man walked into the store and displayed a handgun. He demanded money from the clerk, an Alexandria-area woman. The suspect then tied her up and demanded that she lie on the floor behind the counter. He took the cash and some jewelry and fled the scene. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as black, in his late 20s. He was approximately 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. He had short, black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a dark blue, pin-striped suit with a striped tie.

  • Armed robbery and assault

An employee of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 6211 North Kings Highway was robbed on Monday, March 31 around 10 p.m. The victim, a 21-year-old Alexandria-area man, was outside the store when he was forced back inside by two men, one armed with a handgun. The suspects took his cell phone and demanded money. The victim relinquished an undisclosed amount of cash and was assaulted by both suspects who then fled with money and merchandise.  The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Both suspects were described as black, about 25 years old. The first suspect was approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighed about 180 pounds. He wore a gray hoodie, blue jeans, white shoes and a black, knit cap. The second suspect was approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed about 190 pounds. He wore a blue jacket, blue jeans and dark shoes. He had long, braided hair.

  • Armed robbery

700 block of North West Street. 04/06 at 12:20 A.M. 

The victim, an 18-year-old Alexandria man, reports that approximately nine unknown suspects robbed him of personal property at knifepoint.  There were no injuries.  The suspects are described as black males, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans.

  • Juvenile Murder Suspect Sought

Fairfax County Crime Solvers is asking for the publics assistance in locating 17-year-old Elvin Rodriguez-Juarez. Rodriguez-Juarez is currently wanted by police for the April 3 murder of Zaida Alvarez Rodriguez. On that date, police responded at 11:30 p.m. to an unknown situation at 12056 Greywing Square in Reston and found Zaida Rodriguez, 42, unresponsive in her home. She was transported to the Reston Hospital Center where she was pronounced dead.

An investigation determined Zaida Rodriguez died as a result of trauma to her upper body. Detectives have obtained juvenile petitions charging Elvin Rodriguez-Juarez with her murder.

  • Robbery

East Raymond Avenue at Dewitt Avenue. 04/07 at 10:00 P.M.  The victim, a 24-year-old Alexandria man, reports that three unknown suspects knocked him to the ground, kicked him and robbed him of personal property.  The victim suffered minor injuries.  The suspects are described as black males, 15-20 years old, wearing dark clothing.

  • Felonious assault in Del Ray

A 16-year-old Alexandria man reports that two known suspects knocked him to the ground, kicked and punched him after they got off the school bus from Minnie Howard School.  The incident occurred at 1605 Commonwealth Avenue at 5:30 pm.

The victim suffered minor injuries.  The suspects are described as black males, 16 years old.

One juvenile suspect was arrested for Felonious Assault is being and held in custody, the other suspect is being sought.

  • Attempted robbery at Sun Trust Bank

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred Wednesday at the Sun Trust Bank at 1650 King Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

At approximately 9:20 A.M., one suspect entered the bank and approached the teller. He passed the teller a note announcing the robbery, but fled before the teller could comply.  The suspect left from the bank on foot without obtaining any money.

The suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years-old, 59-511, wearing a dark blue hooded jacket, knee-length jean shorts, and a bright red ball cap.
