Police continue to investigate a bank robbery that occurred last Thursday, October 15 at the M&T Bank at 833 S. Washington St, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
At around 2:45 p.m., a man walked into the bank, approached the teller and brandished a firearm, according to a spokesperson for the APD. The suspect demanded money, took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank. No one was injured.
The suspect is described as male, race unknown. He was wearing a hockey mask and a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with a green jacket over top of the sweatshirt. The investigation is ongoing.
Last weeks robbery was the second within a week. A suspect, now in custody, robbed the Wachovia Bank at Bradlee Center October 8.
