City police say they’re investigating whether two United Parcel Service packages ransacked while on the doorstep of the same 200 block N. Patrick St. home are connected.
The latest theft occurred between 3:50 and 4:20 p.m. January 17, authorities said. After the UPS box was delivered, the suspects opened it and made off with its contents. The victim later reported the theft.
It’s not the first time the victim had been targeted. Someone made off with the contents of another delivery a week earlier, she told police. Authorities did not describe the contents of either package, but said they were different.
Incidents like this are generally “crimes of opportunity,” said Ashley Hildebrandt, department spokeswoman. There were no witnesses and police do not have a description of the suspects.
