Alexandria police say a Pizza Hut deliveryman surrendered his wallet and cell phone after an unidentified man held him up at gunpoint on the 5500 block of Trent Court on Sunday.

The deliveryman was walking back to his vehicle after dropping off an order about 8:20 p.m. when the suspect, described as a black man wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, approached him with a gun drawn, said Jody Donaldson, department spokesman.

Officers do not know the type of weapon brandished by the suspect, he said. It’s not clear if the suspect was waiting for the victim or if it was a crime of opportunity.

The suspect fled on foot soon after, leaving the victim uninjured in the robbery, officials said. No arrests have been made, though the incident remains under investigation.
