Alexandria police are investigating a motor vehicle accident Sunday that killed a 92-year-old city resident.

Suzanne Kominski was walking along the 1200 block of Key Drive about 3:30 p.m. with her husband when a car pulling out of a driveway struck her, police said in a statement. Emergency responders took her to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she died around 7:40 p.m.

The department’s crash reconstruction team is spearheading the investigation. Spokeswoman Ashley Hildebrandt said she had no further information about the fatal incident.

While no charges have yet been filed, Hildebrandt did not rule out the possibility of the driver facing charges in the future.
