With all precincts reporting, Wilson wins the mayoral primary. Silberberg calls to congratulate Wilson on the win.Wilson said on Twitter of the win: “I just talked to [Allison Silberberg] a few minutes ago. She graciously provided congratulations on a hard-fought race. I am grateful for her tireless service to our City. Tonight we won a great victory for our City’s future. Let’s get started.”

Bennett-Parker, Chapman, Seifeldein, Pepper, Aguirre and Jackson win Democratic nominations for the six city council seats. Bennett-Parker attracts the most votes in the council race overall. 

Tuesday, 9 p.m.

With all but one precinct reporting, Wilson leads 52.63 to 47.37 percent. Bennett-Parker, Chapman, Seifeldein, Pepper, Aguirre and Jackson lead.

Tuesday, 8:54 p.m.

With 25 of 29 precincts reporting, Wilson is ahead 52.42 percent to Silberberg’s 47.58 percent. Bennett-Parker, Chapman, Seifeldein, Pepper and Aguirre lead.

Tuesday, 8:31 p.m.

With only ten precincts left to report, Wilson continues to lead over Silberberg, with 51.77 percent of votes to her 48.23 percent.

Tuesday, 8:20 p.m. 

16 out of 29 precincts reporting. Wilson’s numbers increase to 52.50% percent of votes, compared to Silberberg’s 47.50 percent. Bennett-Parker, Chapman, Seifeldein, Aguirre, Jackson, and Pepper are currently the top 6 council candidates in the lead.

Over half of precincts are in, and Wilson takes a lead of 52.95 percent over Silberberg’s 47.05 percent.

Tuesday, 8:06 p.m.

With 12 out of 29 precincts reporting, the mayoral race is currently neck and neck, with Wilson holding 50.05 percent of votes to Silberberg’s 49.95 percent.

Tuesday, 8:01 p.m.

Wilson takes the edge over Silberberg with 50.08 percent of votes and 11 out of 29 precincts reporting.

Tuesday, 7:54 p.m.

8 out of 29 precincts reporting. Wilson’s numbers increase slightly to 49.59 percent of votes, compared to Silberberg’s 50.48 percent.

Tuesday, 7:50 p.m. 

City Council numbers are close, but Chapman with 11.19 percent of votes and Bennett-Parker with 12.44 percent of votes currently lead among the first five precincts. Silberberg’s edge over Wilson shrinks slightly to 53.48 percent, with her opponent holding 46.52 percent of votes.

Tuesday, 7:38 p.m.

Silberberg takes an early lead over Wilson in the first two precincts: Patrick Henry Rec Center, 56.08 percent to 43.92 percent, and City Hall, 69.39 percent to 30.61 percent.

Tuesday, 5:09 p.m. 

As of 4 p.m., 13,550 ballots had been cast in the Democratic Primary, with the 2,003 absentee ballots bringing the total number of votes to 15,553. The Maury School precinct showed the highest number of ballots cast, with a 28.02 percent turnout. City Hall and Mt. Vernon Recreation Center were close behind, with rates of 24.44 and 23.99 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, 1,540 ballots were cast in the Republican Primary, with Cameron Station being the precinct with the highest turnout rate, that being 2.48 percent.

As of noon on Tuesday, 10,906 ballots had been cast in the Democratic primary, with 2,003 of those absentee. That represents an increase of more than 2,000 ballots since 10 a.m., when the city’s Office of Voter Registration reported 8,439 ballots had been cast.

The highest number of ballots – 730 – were cast at Mt. Vernon Recreation Center, which represents a turnout of 17.53 percent. The Maury School precinct had the highest turnout by noon at 19.55 percent – 533 ballots – up from the precinct’s 14.92 percent at 10 a.m., with 407 votes cast.

The Blessed Sacrament, George Washington and George Mason School precincts had turnouts of 16.02, 15.26 and 14.71 percent, respectively. The City Hall precinct had a turnout of 15.14 percent by noon, with 391 ballots cast.

The Ladrey Senior Building, Lyles Crouch School, Durant Center, Agudas Achim Synagogue and Douglas MacArthur precincts reported double digit turnouts by noon.

The Lee Center, Cora Kelly Center, Charles Houston Center, Potomac Yard, Chinquapin, Temple Beth El Synagogue, Nova Arts Center, James K. Polk, Hermitage, Patrick Henry Recreation Center, Charles Beatley Library, John Adams School, William Ramsay School, South Port and Cameron Station precincts all reported turnouts in the single digits by noon.

Anna Leider, general registrar with the Office of Voter Registration, said turnout was higher so far in the 2018 primary than in the 2015 primary. At noon during the 2015 primary, there was a 6.49 turnout and 7.81 turnout with absentee ballots included. In comparison, by noon on Tuesday, the city reported a 9.42 turnout and an 11.54 percent turnout with absentee ballots included.

The Office of Voter Registration reported that 1,015 ballots had been cast in the Republican Primary by noon, representing a turnout of 1.07 percent.
