At 11:55 pm on Sunday night police were called to 3001 Park Center Dr. in response to a report of a deceased female.

27-year old Halet Mohammed died at the scene, according to police.

Mohammeds husband, 35-year old Mesfin Hussin, was arrested and charged with his wifes murder on Monday, June 23, after an autopsy revealed the manner of death to be homicide. According to police, Halet suffered trauma to her upper body.

Police would not discuss motives for the killing.

Hussin is being held without bail at Alexandria Jail for murder the first homicide of 2008 in the city. There were eight last year.
