Dwarfed by a huge crab, National Harbor opened its first restaurant Saturday, McCormick & Schmicks, further expanding the restaurant operators significant presence in the D.C. area and bringing its portfolio to 80 restaurants nationwide.

National Harbor is a 300 acre, mixed-use waterfront destination comprised of restaurants, shopping, office and residential space, located in the heart of the Washington, D.C. market. It is also in close proximity to Gaylord National, the largest non-gaming hotel and convention center on the East coast.

Our National Harbor restaurant is in a very attractive location, allowing us to expand our strong presence in the greater D.C. market, said Doug Schmick, chairman and CEO of McCormick & Schmicks Seafood Restaurants, Inc. National Harbor comprises a diverse target guest base, and includes business travelers, tourists, residents and local business people. We look forward to being a part of this new, dynamic community.

The National Harbor McCormick & Schmicks is approximately 8,000 square feet and seats an estimated 300 guests, with additional seats on the patio.
