Police say three men stole a car stopped at an intersection of Madison and North Fayette streets after one of them flashed a gun at the driver and told him to get out.

The unidentified men, described as black, walked to the car from opposite sides of the intersection about 1:22 a.m. November 9, police said. After showing off the firearm, the men demanded the victim turnover his 1998 Cadillac Deville as well as any cash.

Police found the car empty and parked on the 300 block of N. Fayette St. later the same day. Nothing else was missing or damaged, authorities said.

Authorities continue to investigate. They describe the armed man as dressed in all black while one of the other suspects donned a reddish-orange shirt.
