T.C. Williams kicks off the 2011 football season on the road against Wakefield Thursday evening, with eyes on the teams first playoff run in 20 years.

The two squads last met on the football field exactly five years ago and the Titans came away with a 10-6 win against the Arlington school to open their 2006 season. T.C. went on to have a lackluster 4-6 season.

The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Wakefield.

Across town, Bishop Ireton will take the field for the first time in 2011 against Bishop OConnell. The rival bishops begin play at 5 p.m. on Iretons field.

Episcopal is slated to begin their season on the road, facing rival Flint Hill at 1 p.m., September 17.

St. Stephens and St. Agnes returns to the gridiron a few days earlier, squaring off against St. Christophers at home. They are scheduled to play at 1:30 p.m., September 10.
