Inova Health System broke ground on Monday on Inova Oakville, a new medical and emergency facility located in Potomac Yard.
Inova staff and local leaders, including Mayor Justin Wilson and Councilors Amy Jackson and John Chapman, were on hand with hammers to ceremonially smash a concrete wall and celebrate the start of construction on the $300 million project. Inova’s new medical center will stretch 93,000 square feet and provide emergency room, outpatient care and medical services. The Inova health center is currently planned for a fall 2023 opening.
Inova Oakville is part of a broader mixed used redevelopment effort in the Oakville Triangle neighborhood, which will feature more than one million square feet of space for apartments and 55,000 square feet of retail.
